What Servers would you like to see here

Simple one, what servers would people like to see on rotation or even online constantly (Depending on the game).

We've currently got UT04 always up, at the time of writing a Skyfactory4 (Minecraft) server.

What's a game server that would be neat to have? Something that is useful, fun or might even draw in a few people from outside?

Drop your requests below and we can get started bringing some Dart Boards and Stabbing Tables back to the Tavern!

I know, surprise, surprise nelly is suggesting a vanilla Minecraft server.
There is some logic to it, 1.14 just released during the week and I have being searching Reddit communities for a Aussie server. Where I have found few other Aussies doing the same as me.

Admittedly I have no idea how long ago you guys ran one, I also realised some of you hate vanilla.

nelly_2202 I like vanilla. I might be partial to hopping on something simpler on occasion.

I'd definitely be interested in a vanilla server. I'd also be interested in a ftb server similar to the LB one we ran. From the looks of it the sky factory server became quite empty within the first week and I think that's because once the recourses became automated, there's not much to do for those of us that aren't devoting alot of time to it.

Mini_Jebus I always found that to be the problem. FTB always seemed to be a race to automation or top tech. Vanilla most build a base and then call it quits.
Keeping people returning for a extended period of time is the challenge.

nelly_2202 that's what I loved about the old server. You'd hop on and there was always something for everyone to do, whether it was working on the technical stuff, building a house or helping expand the village

I think we could put vanilla MC on the windows physical server we have at stoners. Less demanding for performance.

If I'm on tonight I'll get one setup! Keep the ideas coming!

I was about yo say i could put a vanilla up on a Linux VM. but i guess the physical server needs something to do.

Stoner772 That's the thing! Even though Linux seems to be way better on performance, at least it is vanil AND it gives the physical a use. =)

I don't know if this would work, but a factorio server? Would be interesting to try out.

Nitrousoxide We've had one briefly in the past. Down side is if you don't get on and play as much as one or two others you get left so far behind.

That said, it's light weight. We can certainly Chuck one up if anyone has a desire for it!

Maybe a Gmod server with the old Lanbox mod pack? Or as Nitrousoxide said a factorio server would be cool as well

God I can't wait to move into my new house and have access to my desktop computer it's been quite some time, a vanilla Minecraft server sounds fun 😁

I am going to put forward a few suggestions for consideration if we do go for a vanilla Minecraft server. Mostly for quality of life changes.

First one is looking at some data packs, such as some of the ones from this site (https://vanillatweaks.net/picker/datapacks/) I like the idea of some of these, like 'dragon drops','multiplayer sleep' and 'double shulkers'.

The other is maybe doing research in to a seed, so most of the biomes are a respectable distance from the main build area.

nelly_2202 I'm assuming the DataPack route is mostly server side modding, and you're recommending Quality Of Life for the most part rather than modding itself? Doesnt sound like a bad idea at all, get rid of some of the questionable omissions from something like MC after so many years :p

Crazy_Muffins yeah, pretty much. Not suggesting any new blocks. Really they would change the mob drops too be a little more friendly to a multi player server.

I'm sold on it! It'll give the physical something to do, and i feel like being vanil, it'll run well enough on that box that we can let it roll as a long term setup.

nelly_2202 keen for anything that means I can pop in without having to install mods or learn the current flavour of the month. I’m too slow for that haha. Quality of life server side mods sounds great.

Now here's something that might be worth considering, now that the Bedrock edition is mostly caught up to the Java version, do we want to have a look at playing that version?
